Better Days is a supportive space to help you understand your ulcerative colitis and feel more in control. A lot of stress after a colitis diagnosis comes from three areas:

  • talking about colitis

  • adapting daily life

  • making confident health decisions

Choose an area below to read about others' experiences, find resources and explore practical ideas.

BETTER DAYS

Less stress with colitis

Be patient and kind with yourself, progress is not linear

Living well with colitis, for me, means not letting it take over my life. I take my medication and keep an eye on symptoms, but I don’t let them consume me. During flares, I look for familiar patterns and what has helped before. I remind myself that flares don’t mean failure - they’re just part of the process.

Better Days is a research-informed resource developed with people living with ulcerative colitis, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders. It combines lived experiences, research evidence, and existing support resources to help people navigate life with colitis.

The experiences shared throughout the website come from people who took part in the research, with names changed to protect privacy. If you cannot find support relevant to your situation here, additional information and support are available through Crohn's & Colitis UK.

Better Days is not a substitute for medical advice. If you have concerns about your symptoms, treatment, or health, please contact your healthcare team.
